Still Lively is a new project for older people, supported by the Baring Foundation and Arts Council England.
Still Lively is an exciting 2 year partnership project for older people living in Staffordshire and Wolverhampton. Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Choices Housing Association, Staffordshire Arts Services, and Creative Health CIC, work together to run the 2 year programme.
Older people will get the opportunity to take part in events, talks and workshops with artists and writers at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, and Choices Shire Living Schemes in Staffordshire.
The venues will become places for older people to create, share and celebrate their artworks, stories and ideas, inspiring those taking part, as well as other visitors. Artworks from the venues will also be taken on tour to Shire Living centres across Staffordshire for older people to enjoy.
For regular information and images from the weekly Still Lively workshops please follow the creativehealthcic Instagram feed.
Information about activities, exhibitions and events will be posted on this blog.
The Still Lively project is funded through Celebrating Age, a joint Arts Council England and Baring Foundation fund, which supports partnerships between arts and older people’s organisations.
The programme will support cultural spaces and other organisations working collaboratively, in a partnership or as a consortium, to:
• Support arts and cultural spaces to be open, positive and welcoming places for older people.
• Take arts and culture into places where older people will find it easier to engage.
